Arthroscopy Surgeon

Shoulder Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical approach used to diagnose and treat selected shoulder conditions through small incisions. It may be used for instability, rotator cuff problems, labral injuries, and frozen shoulder. Depending on the diagnosis, procedures such as Bankart repair, rotator cuff repair, labral repair, or arthroscopic release may be considered.

1. Bankart Repair

Bankart Repair is commonly performed for selected patients with recurrent anterior shoulder dislocation or instability associated with a Bankart lesion. During arthroscopic surgery, the detached labrum and supporting tissues are repaired and secured to the shoulder socket. Proper rehabilitation is essential to restore stability while gradually improving shoulder movement and strength.

2. Rotator Cuff Repair

Rotator Cuff Repair may be recommended for selected patients with symptomatic rotator cuff tears that do not respond adequately to appropriate conservative treatment. Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair uses specialized instruments to reattach the torn tendon to its anatomical footprint. Recovery involves a structured rehabilitation program to protect healing and gradually restore shoulder function.

3. Frozen Shoulder Release

Frozen Shoulder Release may be considered for persistent stiffness and pain associated with adhesive capsulitis when appropriate non-operative treatment has not provided sufficient improvement. Arthroscopic release involves carefully releasing contracted portions of the shoulder capsule. Treatment is followed by early, supervised rehabilitation focused on maintaining the improved range of motion.

4. Shoulder Instability Surgery

Shoulder Instability Surgery may be required when recurrent dislocations or persistent instability do not respond adequately to non-surgical management. Depending on the underlying problem, treatment may include Bankart Repair or other stabilization procedures. Detailed assessment of the labrum, capsule, bone, and shoulder anatomy helps guide personalized surgical planning.

5. Labral Repair

Labral Repair is used for selected tears of the shoulder labrum that cause pain, instability, clicking, or functional limitations. Arthroscopic surgery allows the surgeon to evaluate and repair the damaged labral tissue through small incisions. The specific technique depends on the location and type of tear, patient activity, and associated shoulder conditions.
